Auscultation simulators teach the assessment of heart, lung, and bowel sounds using a real stethoscope. Accurate auscultation is a fundamental clinical skill for nurses, doctors, and paramedics, and these trainers provide repeatable access to a wide library of normal and abnormal sounds.

Our Auscultation Range

SAM4 is our latest adult auscultation manikin, featuring app-controlled sound selection and multiple auscultation sites. PAT4 is the paediatric equivalent, designed for teaching heart and lung sounds in children. Both models use wireless technology and work with any standard stethoscope.

SAM Basic offers a cost-effective entry point for auscultation training. MATT and PATT are auscultation task trainers (adult and paediatric) that provide focused sound assessment practice in a compact torso format. The DxBAT trainer adds a diagnostic element with integrated case-based learning.

Key Considerations

When choosing an auscultation simulator, consider the number of sound conditions available, whether the device supports both anterior and posterior auscultation, and whether it integrates with your existing simulation equipment. App-based models like SAM4 and PAT4 allow you to update sound libraries and build custom scenarios.
