Practise venepuncture and intramuscular injection techniques and procedures used in young children.
This model is an exact reproduction of the arm of a six-year-old child.
It provides a realistic sensation and response. The lifelike vinyl skin actually rolls as you palpate to allow location of the vein.
Made with synthetic rubber tubing, the veins provide a lifelike representation of vein size, feeling of puncture, and palpation for practising venipuncture.
Soft foam is used to simulate the deltoid muscle. It allows the student to 'get the feel' of administering intramuscular injections to children.
The simulated bone in the shoulder defines and limits the injection area. Water is a suitable injection fluid in the shoulder area.
