Sim & Skills got sent to Coventry… and loved it at HPSN UK 2025!

We got sent to Coventry… but not in the way you might expect! Sim and Skills had the pleasure of supporting Elevate Healthcare’s annual Human Patient Simulation Network (HPSN) Conference in Coventry, UK with two action-packed days of product showcases, presentations and workshops.

About Elevate Healthcare and HPSN

Elevate Healthcare are a Sim & Skills supplier who are deeply passionate about healthcare simulation and its transformative impact on the future healthcare practitioner training. Their event, HPSN, is an international conference held to advance and celebrate innovations for the healthcare simulation space. Elevate’s impressive range of patient simulators were on show:

CAE Ares - ALS Manikin | Sim & Skills

Ares - Emergency Care Manikin

Juno - Nursing Skills Manikin

Apollo - Prehospital Manikin

Lucina - Childbirth Manikin

Also grabbing attention was Learning Space, ultrasound trainers and their newest patient simulator – Evo; a modular adult patient simulator that adapts to the ever-developing requirements of healthcare simulation.

The event featured keynote presentations, workshops and talks from leading minds and innovators in an interactive and informative environment. Ideas were shared, questions were asked and possibilities grew, about the use of simulation for the benefit of the healthcare industry’s learners and end-users.

What Sim & Skills got up to...

Over on the Sim & Skills stand, our team LOVED speaking with the attendees, showcasing software such as the Virtual Dissection Anatomy Table, Sim EPR, and task trainers for trainees to perfect their skills before starting in-person practice.

Sim & Skills' Event Highlights

Not that we’re picking favourites, but here are some of our top moments from the two days:

Day 1:

  • Arron Thind’s talks on the incredible SimEPR software, specifically its new capabilities for independent student learning.
  • Linzi Foxcroft’s moulage workshops blew our minds with how realistic silicone can be to simulate wounds. Attendees created moulage on their own skin mimicking skin-texture, blood and foreign bodies.

Day 2:

  • Joelle Salije’s grounding presentation on simulated practice learning as the bridge between medical theory and in-person clinical practice for students.
  • Karen Scullion’s refreshing career progression tour from the military to healthcare, to simulation, and even aviation! Her experiences dealing with imposter syndrome, confidence in your skills and welcoming opportunity when it knocks really resonated with the attendees.

Concluding the two days

Overall, the conference was a valuable, jam-packed couple of days for all involved. It was wonderful to hear the conversations and talks from a community unified in improving patient safety though immersive simulation. We want to say a huge thank you to Elevate Healthcare for inviting us to take part in HPSN UK. We whole-heartedly recommend keeping an eye out for HPSN 2026 – dates yet to be announced.

It was a fantastic event that wraps up a brilliant year for Sim & Skills and this incredible industry – you are what makes simulation the brilliant tool that it is, and we’re with you every step of the way.  See you in 2026!
